How to Draw a Volleyball Step by Step
Follow these volleyball drawing step by step instructions. Go slowly, and remember your volleyball does not need to be perfect. Real volleyballs are stitched by hand too, and that is part of their charm. Every line you draw helps your hand get steadier and more confident.
Step 1: Draw the Outer Circle

Start by drawing a big, round circle in the middle of your paper. This is the outline of your volleyball, so every panel line will go inside it. Draw it lightly so it is easy to fix later.
Step 2: Draw the First Panel Line

Inside the circle, near the top left edge, draw a short curved line. This is the start of your first panel, the curved patches that make up a volleyball’s surface.
Step 3: Curve the First Panel Down

Add a second curved line just below and parallel to the first one. The two lines should curve gently together, like a wide banana shape.
Step 4: Add the Third Curved Line

Draw a third curved line below the others, following the same gentle curve. You should now have three curved lines stacked like a fan inside the circle.
Step 5: Close the Side of the Panel

On the left side, draw a curved line connecting the ends of your panel lines. This starts to close off the curved panel shapes along the edge of the ball.
Step 6: Draw the Top Panel Curve

Near the top of the circle, draw a curved line that sweeps from one side toward the middle. This will help separate the top panel from the rest of the ball.
Step 7: Connect the Top Panel

Extend the curve so it meets the other lines near the center of the ball. This finishes the shape of the top curved panel.
Step 8: Add the Middle Dividing Line

Draw a curved line down through the middle area of the ball. This line helps separate the panels on the right side from the ones on the left.
Step 9: Extend the Center Line Down

Continue that curved center line further down toward the bottom of the circle. Your volleyball is really starting to take shape now!
Step 10: Finish the Right Side Curve

On the right side, draw a curved line that follows the edge of the circle from top to bottom. This completes the last big panel section.
Step 11: Trace Your Final Lines

Go over your favorite lines with a black marker, then gently erase any leftover pencil marks. You now have a clean volleyball outline. This makes a great sports coloring page all on its own!
Step 12: Color Your Volleyball

Now for the best part: coloring! Volleyballs are usually white, light blue, and gray, with darker shading on one side to make the ball look round. Your volleyball is finished and ready to play. It is your art, so use any colors you love!
